Watercolor Project Color Palette Swatch Cards

I created these little Project Color Palette Swatch Cards to plan my watercolor paintings, and to help encourage students to choose their palette before jumping in to their final watercolor painting.

These swatch cards are printed on 140lb cold press watercolor paper. Each 4.5" x 5.875" watercolor card contains a line at the top to write your project title and date and 8 empty squares to swatch out your palette with a line below each square to make color notes and observations. Each set contains 12 cards, wrapped and tied in turquoise hemp twine.

Make a plan, title and date your painting on the top line, layer colors, added texture if desired, note your color combinations, and stay organized! This makes a great gift for any watercolor artist or student, even someone just starting out.

Before I created these cards I had scraps of watercolor swatches all over my studio, with no text information about the project. Now I'm organized, better prepared for my students and my own paintings, and can easily reference project color palettes for use in future paintings.
