About
Hi, I'm Erin.
I paint in watercolor in Napa, California. Most of what I paint comes from close by: a bearded iris from the garden, shells collected at Doran Beach just above Point Reyes, quail eggs I found at Costco of all places, a boat out on San Francisco Bay.
Everything in this shop starts as one of those paintings. From there I print it, cut it, tear it, stitch it, and pack it at my studio table.
I've been at this a while. I have a BFA in Illustration from the Academy of Art University and eighteen years of professional work behind me. I've illustrated for Disney, Pixar, Nick Jr., Paramount, and Gap, and I illustrated the children's book Rhyme: A Pig in Politics. My own book, The Animals Come Out at Night, was a Top Ten Finalist for the Clavis Key Colors prize in 2022.
I teach, and I paint along with you. Every week I paint one small thing from life, record it, and post it on my Substack, Small Moments . . . Noted. I teach around Napa too: an intermediate watercolor series with the Napa Valley Education Foundation, weekly workshops with Yountville Parks and Recreation, and the occasional Sip & Paint. The whole point is that it's a sketch. It doesn't have to be exact.
Find me in person. I show at Napa Valley Open Studios, pop-up shows, and holiday markets through the year. Current dates are on my events page.
I wrap orders in recycled kraft paper and organic cotton string, use compostable materials where I can, and reuse shipping supplies when I have them on hand. If something isn't right when it arrives, email me at erin@eringennow.com and I'll make it right.
Thanks for looking around!
